Travel documents other than ordinary national passports follow a different rule
Uruguay says people traveling on passports issued for foreigners or on travel-identity documents need a visa regardless of nationality. This page assumes an ordinary national passport; confirm the route with a consulate if you will use a refugee or other substitute travel document.
Official guidance [2]No COVID-era declaration, test or vaccine certificate is currently required
Uruguay's Ministry of Public Health says travelers do not need a COVID-19 vaccination certificate, test or arrival declaration. Check current health-entry guidance again before departure in case requirements change.
Official guidance [5]Before and during your visit to Uruguay
Check timing and fees with your own consulate
Uruguayan missions publish local appointment lead times and fees, and the national page says consular rates change annually. Contact the mission responsible for your residence early; figures from another consulate may not apply.
Apply for an extension before your permission expires
Request a current temporary-stay extension at least 15 calendar days before your authorized stay ends. Apply in person while your status is regular.
