Arrange the required inbound policy for your first point of entry
From 1 October 2026, most foreign visitors need inbound cover. Choose one policy based on your first point of entry: NIC for Mainland Tanzania or ZIC for Zanzibar. One policy is sufficient for a trip covering both areas, and cover lasts up to 92 days. NIC lists the TZS equivalent of USD 44 per person; ZIC currently lists category rates, including USD 44 per adult and USD 22 for children and some regional travelers. Check eligibility and current rates with the selected provider. Arrange cover before travel and keep the certificate accessible. This limited policy does not replace comprehensive travel insurance.
