A clear path to your application
The right application channel depends on your destination and where you legally live.
Prepare your application
Apply at the Jamaican consular post in your country of residence, or the nearest post. Check that post's current instructions for the checklist, fee, processing time and submission method; the Ministry's general page does not give universal application details. A visa does not guarantee entry, and the immigration officer makes the final decision at arrival.
Submit through the official channel
Use Jamaica visitor visa application. Check the current instructions and total government charges before paying.
Review the decision before departure
Check the passport details, dates and entry conditions on the permission you receive.
What to prepare for your trip
Check each item as you prepare it. Labels show which documents are required, conditional, or recommended.
Your circumstances may require additional documents. Ticks track preparation, not eligibility or admission.
Prepare any forms that apply to your trip
Immigration/Customs C5 form
Available from 30 days before arrival. The Jamaica Tourist Board says the online C5 is free and can be submitted up to 30 days before travel; each traveler, including children, needs a separate form. PICA also accepts a completed, signed paper C5 at immigration. The form asks for passport, trip, stay-address and customs details.

Extensions need approval before your landing time expires
Apply to PICA before the leave-by date stamped when you entered; an extension is not automatic. PICA lists a visitor maximum of 12 months for Commonwealth citizens and 6 months for non-Commonwealth citizens, but these are overall visitor-category ceilings, not the stay granted automatically on arrival. A visitor-extension application requires a passport with at least six months remaining, a return ticket, a letter explaining the reason, any applicable entry visa and a JMD 10,000 processing fee.
Official guidanceThe officer sets your initial leave-by date
Jamaica's Immigration Officer at the port decides whether to admit you and how long you may stay, whether or not you need a visa. A nationality's published visa-free period does not guarantee that full time will be granted. Check the leave-by date in your passport and apply to PICA before it expires if you need more time.
