Government fee

India’s official 8 September 2026 fee schedule lists e-Tourist prices by passport and product. Its footnote says a 3% bank charge is additional, but FAQ Q4 on the official eVisa page says there is no fee beyond the processing fee. These official pages differ; confirm the amount and total at the official payment step before paying. The processing fee is non-refundable even if an ETA is refused.

India's e-Tourist Visa options have different validity and stay limits

The 30-day e-Tourist Visa is valid for 30 days starting with your first arrival, which must take place while the ETA is valid. The one-year option is valid for 365 days from ETA grant, and the five-year option for five years from grant; both allow multiple entries and no more than 180 days total in India per calendar year. The official portal also lists a separate six-month e-Tourist option. Product availability and individual stay conditions can vary by passport. Visa validity is not the same as the permitted continuous stay; follow the dates and stay conditions on your issued ETA.

Official guidance

Check the passport rules for an eVisa

India’s eVisa is not available to diplomatic or official passport holders, laissez-passer or international travel document holders, or a person endorsed on someone else’s passport. Each applicant needs an eligible passport in their own name.

Official guidance

Enter through a designated eVisa port

An Indian eVisa is valid for entry only at the airports and seaports listed by the immigration authority; it cannot be used to enter by land. Cruise passengers must use one of the five designated cruise seaports. Check the current list before booking your route.
