Entry Requirements
Visa-Free Entry
Hong Kong maintains a liberal visa policy, allowing nationals of approximately 170 countries and territories to visit for periods ranging from 7 to 180 days without a visa. Common visa-free durations include:
- 180 days: United Kingdom (British Citizens)
- 90 days: United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and most European Union member states.
- 30 days: Thailand, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia.
- 14 days: India (requires Pre-arrival Registration), Philippines, and South Africa.
Travel Documents
All visitors must hold a valid travel document (passport) with a validity of at least one month beyond the intended period of stay in Hong Kong. However, many airlines and some consulates may require a minimum of six months validity.
Onward and Return Travel
Visitors are generally required to hold a confirmed onward or return ticket to their next destination or country of origin. This requirement is typically waived for those transiting to Mainland China or Macau.
Pre-arrival Registration (PAR)
Nationals of India must successfully complete a Pre-arrival Registration (PAR) online before they can visit Hong Kong visa-free for up to 14 days. The registration is valid for six months or until the expiry of the passport, whichever is earlier.
