- 2
Check dates and entries

- 3
Prepare for the journey
Follow the official instructions for carrying or displaying your permission, and complete the entry checklist below.
Travel preparation checklist
Check each item’s requirement level and the conditions that apply.
Your circumstances may require additional documents. Ticks track preparation, not eligibility or admission.
Entry conditions and exceptions
Check whether these rules affect your eligibility, application, or arrival.
Choose the visa length for your trip
The official portal offers 30- and 90-day eVisa validity options, starting on the entry date entered in the application. Choose the appropriate product and check its permitted stay; visa validity is not a blanket stay allowance.
Official guidance [3]Check the current yellow-fever certificate rule
A September 2026 Benin Health Ministry notice says vaccination cards are not being checked at entry points, but recommends yellow-fever vaccination and allows the measure to change. UK advice still says a certificate is required. Verify current border and carrier rules before travel.
Official guidance [4]Before and during your visit to Benin
Apply in the portal’s recommended window
Benin recommends filing at least seven days before arrival and accepts applications no more than 90 days ahead. Its FAQ gives a one-to-96-hour processing range, but leave time for delays.
Check every field before payment
An issued eVisa cannot be amended or refunded. Match passport and travel dates carefully, then save the application number for status tracking.
Ask immigration before an eVisa expires
The Benin portal directs visitors whose eVisa will expire during their stay to the emigration and immigration office for an extension. Contact it before the expiry date; extension is not automatic.

For tourism in Benin, ordinary passport holders from Lebanon need an eVisa before travel.
What if I’m going to work, study or stay longer?
This guide is for a short tourist visit on an ordinary passport. It does not establish eligibility for employment, study or residence. Use the destination’s official guidance for your actual purpose.
Does my country of residence change the answer?
Passport nationality and legal residence are different. This page starts with your passport.
