A clear path to your application
The right application channel depends on your destination and where you legally live.
Check whether your passport meets the exception
The Ministry says foreign nationals of Afghan origin may enter on a foreign passport without a visa if Afghanistan is listed as their birthplace, or if they carry specified proof of Afghan identity such as a Tazkira, Afghan passport or identity certificate from an Afghan mission. If this may apply to you, confirm your eligibility with the Ministry before travel.
If you do not qualify, apply for the required visa before travel
The Ministry says its embassies and consulates issue Afghan visas to foreign nationals. Contact the mission responsible for your residence to confirm whether it accepts tourist-visa applications and its current submission steps.
Check the stay and entry conditions
A visa or visa waiver does not guarantee admission. Follow the dates and conditions set by the destination’s immigration authority.
