Vietnam pre-arrival information declaration
PAI is optional and separate from a visa. The pilot covers Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City), Noi Bai (Hanoi), Da Nang, Cam Ranh and Phu Quoc airports. Submit it within three days before arrival or upon arrival to receive a QR code that can help speed up immigration. Use only the official Immigration Department portal.

Check whether these rules affect your eligibility, application, or arrival.
Published advice differs on Vietnam’s pre-arrival form
Vietnam’s Immigration Department and Foreign Ministry describe PAI as a voluntary pilot at Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai, Da Nang, Cam Ranh and Phu Quoc. U.S. advice says non-Vietnamese passport holders arriving by air must submit it; Irish and New Zealand advice says it is required at Tan Son Nhat, and Dutch advice lists several airports. Because official instructions differ, check with your airline and Vietnam Immigration for your arrival airport shortly before departure. To avoid a last-minute problem, you can submit the form within three days before arrival or after landing where offered. Use only the official Immigration Department portal.
Official guidanceCheck your border crossing
Use an international border gate approved for eVisa entry and exit. Check your itinerary against the official list.
Official guidanceYour passport must outlast the eVisa
Vietnamese mission guidance says visa validity must be at least 30 days shorter than passport validity. Make sure your passport expires at least 30 days after the final validity date on the eVisa; follow any stricter passport-specific guidance.
Official guidanceVietnam accepts eVisa applications from all nationalities
Vietnam has accepted eVisa applications from citizens of all countries and territories since 15 August 2023. This makes the eVisa route available when your passport requires a visa; it does not make your visit visa-free. Apply through the official Vietnam Immigration portal.
