Official guidanceIndia's e-Tourist Visa has product- and passport-specific stay limits
India's e-Tourist Visa allows a continuous stay of up to 90 days per visit for most e-Visa eligible nationalities, or up to 180 days for nationals of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Japan. The 30-day product is valid for 30 days from first arrival; the one-year and five-year products are valid from ETA grant and limit total stay to 180 days per calendar year. The official portal also lists a separate six-month e-T2 product. These are limits, not a guaranteed stay: eligibility and conditions depend on the passport and selected product, and the dates and stay conditions on the issued ETA control.
Official guidanceCheck the passport rules for an eVisa
India’s eVisa is not available to diplomatic or official passport holders, laissez-passer or international travel document holders, or a person endorsed on someone else’s passport. Each applicant needs an eligible passport in their own name.
Official guidanceEnter through a designated eVisa port
An Indian eVisa is valid for entry only at the airports and seaports listed by the immigration authority; it cannot be used to enter by land. Cruise passengers must use one of the five designated cruise seaports. Check the current list before booking your route.
Official guidanceVisa on arrival for UAE nationals has a prior-visa condition
UAE nationals who have already held an Indian eVisa or regular/paper visa may qualify for visa on arrival at six designated airports, for an eligible visit of up to 60 days. First-time UAE visitors are advised to apply for an eVisa or regular visa before travel.

Check payment status before trying again
If your account was charged but the portal did not confirm payment, check the application’s payment status first. Wait while a transaction is pending before retrying to avoid a duplicate charge.
Apply for India’s e-Tourist Visa at least four days before arrival
The official portal lets eligible applicants apply up to 120 days ahead, but the application and fee must be submitted at least four days before arrival. This is an application window, not a guaranteed processing time. Check that your ETA is granted before you travel.
